The key to joining the company is "manufacturing essential to people's lives."

Joined the company April 2017
IT engineer
N.S.

I studied the field of information at university. When I was looking for a job, I wanted to use what I had learned in university and work continuously in the Tokai region.
I attended various information seminars, but only in the USJC company briefings, I learned that the manufacture semiconductors, which are essential to people's lives, and among them, they focus on low-power technologies. When I asked about the industry in detail, I decided to join the company because I felt that I could make use of what I had learned at university because I had a promising future, such as focusing on the development of IoT.

I strongly feel the importance of communication.
I strongly feel the importance
of communication.

The IT Systems Department has three groups: Manufacturing Systems, IT Infrastructure, and Business Systems. Each group has its own development and operation support business, and I am in charge of developing manufacturing systems. We provide solutions and develop systems that support business efficiency, automation, and quality improvement using IT technologies such as big data analysis, IoT, AI, and image processing.
Currently, I am involved in automation projects, etc., and as a development leader, I work with other members in a series of system development processes, including specification design and implementation, in order to contribute to productivity improvement. What I feel is important in this job is to build a system that is easy for users to use, improves productivity, and contributes to cost reduction. To achieve this, I work closely with users in other departments who will be using the system, listen to their problems and suggestions for improvement, and work together to build the system. I think it is very important to communicate with users in order to provide them with what they really need.

You can feel the growth every day!

What is rewarding is that the system developed through various trials and errors can be provided to users, thereby contributing to improved productivity and cost reduction. In addition, it is attractive to learn a lot about knowledge of various semiconductor manufacturing, programming and systems through the development.
What we are working on now is to develop in conjunction with other systems, and we need to consider other systems than the one we are in charge of, and think about various things such as not imposing too much load on the system, so we are learning every day through discussions with the members.

When I first joined the company, I started by doing programming and have grown to the point where I am now entrusted with the work as a development leader. At first, you don't have to have any knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing or system development skills. If you are willing to learn, you can learn and grow under the guidance of your seniors and supervisors.

worklifebalance How OB enjoying their day off?

Well-balanced life

On my days off, I like to go outside and do it quite often. After becoming a member of society, I have taken up golf and play rounds with my colleagues. I also like to go drinking, and enjoy it frequently.
Having a day off refreshes me and give me a good change of pace, which helps me do my best at work.
